Amazon.com Review Collect stuffed animals, blocks, games, and costumes in this attractive toy chest from Lipper International. With a rounded back cresting, the chest doubles as a bench with a 21-1/4-inch seat height, great for story time or doll display. An assortment of child-friendly design attributes clearly reflects the toy chest's intended audience. Double hinges prevent the lid from slamming closed, while front finger slots further reduce the odds of pinched fingers. The chest's broad, flat surface offers young artists a great surface for coloring. For fans of hide-n-seek, two air holes are installed on the chest's backside. Two side handles enable transportation and also serve as low-profile armrests. Made in Thailand, the toy chest features durable beech wood construction. A nontoxic pecan finish enhances the toy chest's veneer and protects from splinters. To clean, wipe the chest down with a soft damp cloth and dry immediately to prevent wood damage. The toy chest's design best befits indoor use, and also is available in natural, cherry, and white finishes. Upon delivery, some assembly is required. The toy chest measures 33-3/8 by 18-1/2 by 24-1/4 inches. This item weighs 34 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Good for Price February 5, 2010 BABIE ANGIE (Philadelphia, PA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the price I think this is a good buy. A couple pre-drilled holes didn't line up quite right that didn't really make it much harder to get together. It's sturdy and the lid is my favorite. The hinges keep it from dropping down. It looks really nice in my country style dinning room. I am running low on space to keep toys and it looks like a little bench in the nook where I placed it.
Great Toy Box! July 21, 2009 T. Borchardt (Castalia, Ohio) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased two of these for our grandchildren. Both mothers love them, and have asked where I purchased them so they can buy another one & friends want to buy them also. Two nice safety features are: (1) the lid closes slowly so you don't have to worry about it dropping on the children and (2) there are slots and airholes in the box so that even if the child hides in the box, you do not have to worry about suffocation. The Lipper toy chests are very well built and I would definitely recommend them.
Garbage March 30, 2009 D. leonard (New York, NY United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This chest is proof that there is no way to get off cheap, when looking for a place to store your children's toys. While there may be some actual real wood on this thing, most of it is pressboard or other poor product. The hinges are held in by small screws, two of which have already fallen out of their pre-drilled threads. We had to replace them with larger screws. I doubt these will hold, either, as the wood is of poor quality. As for fitting--the cover is askew and impossible to align properly because it is predrilled. My advice is to spend a little more. You'll be happy you did. It would have been nice to keep this for another use, but the minute he outgrows it, we'll use it for firewood.
Very good toy chest November 10, 2008 Ally (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like this toy chest: it has enough room to put away toys, it looks nice and and it is very safe for the babies. The reason I didn't give it a 5-star is because it has some unpleasant smell that does not go away with time.
Lipper International Toy Chest September 6, 2008 L. Mercer (Portland, Oregon) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this chest (in white) for my 22 month old daughter. Her room is small, so I wanted something that wasn't too big and obtrusive. It is the perfect size! It looks to be well built and is kid safe. The lid has safety hinges and closes slowly, so as to not pinch those little fingers. I also like the fact that there are breath holes in the back, should your little one decide to climb in and "hide". My daughter is over the moon about this toy chest. The first few days, she wanted to take naps on it.. We pretended, naturally. She loves this. It is a nice piece of furniture and a happy addition to her nursery. I highly recommend it.
